A drive to Hamilton-Dundas-Anacaster area -if you like the woods and waterfalls-will be worth the effort.

My experience was delightful.  An incredibly friendly and helpful Hamilton conservation staff member took the time to guide my partner and I through the map system and recommended a trail.   Three-quarters through our hike, he drove by (seemed like his shift was done and was on his way out of the park).  He called out to us.  He seemed to genuinely want to make sure he gave us a good recommendation!  Just so happens, we just deviated from the main trail -as we often do to see where that path may lead- and at that moment were a bit disorientated.  He got us back on track and passed us a Hiking Hamilton Waterfalls guide book he had in his truck.

Near the end of our hike we saw two white-tailed dear in clearing and a woodpecker in a tree.

The smell of the woods, landscape, the magic of waterfalls and the chance to see wildlife made Hamilton hiking  an area to further explore and do nothing in.

…some stuff happened.

visited with family and friends, went down to Queens Quay and boarded the Tall Ships, ate out at an over priced pub and spent time outside enjoying the sun and walking trails.

ignored Canada Day…

Relax.

looked at some things today.  ate fresh baked peanut butter cookies.
